Master flat picker, humorist, singer and teacher Orrin Star graced the national bluegrass and folk scene for more than 40 years. Please join us as the Institute of Musical Traditions and the Folklore Society of Greater Washington come together to celebrate his life and musical legacy. We're proud to be co-sponsoring this tribute to a good friend who left us too soon.

Performers include Randy Barrett, Danny Knicely and Dede Wyland. Other performers TBA as time and schedule allow. Everyone attending will be given an Orrin Star commemorative CD!

Randy Barrett has been singing, playing guitar and banjo, and songwriting with several regional bluegrass bands for the last several decades. His voice has been noted for its power and soulfulness, and he is now stretching his horizons as a solo artist in folk and country music. His song "Hold Me Forever" was recorded by Grace Griffith.

Danny Knicely is a multi-talented musician and music producer from the Shenandoah valley of Virginia. He is constantly active performing and recording his own music and working with other musicians and dancers

"Dede Wyland remains among the most affecting, and downright beautiful voices to ever glide atop banjos
and mandolins.
