You’ve heard their songs performed by the likes of Nanci Griffith,
Lyle Lovett, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt. Three of the most respected
narrative songwriters will share the stage, trading songs and stories
in the Texas tradition. Franke’s 2001 release, "Comfort"
(produced by Eric Taylor) is a tour de force of tight and variegated
ensemble playing, passionate singing, emotionally stirring lyrics, and
haunting, catching melodies. Nanci Griffith said "If you miss an
opportunity to hear Eric Taylor, you have missed a chance to hear a
voice I consider the William Faulkner of songwriting in our current
time." When Townes Van Zandt was once asked to name his favorite
composers he listed Mozart, Bob Dylan, Lightnin’ Hopkins, and David
