Sparky has performed for over forty years and is internationally
recognized as a leading folklorist, musician, historian, storyteller,
and author. Rhonda adds vocal harmonies to their songs, and is
an
accomplished
harmonica and piano player, whose distinct harmonica technique qualifies
their music, whether they are playing railroad songs, Appalachian music,
blues, slave songs, Civil War music, gospel, work songs, cowboy music,
ballads, or Sparky's original compositions.
BluesWorks performs a wide spectrum of traditional and original
blues with a touch of jazz and infuses acoustic blues with a modern
sensibility. Based in the Washington, DC area, award-winning artists
Paul Watson & Judy Luis-Watson tour as a duo, performing, teaching,
and conducting blues education programs. With piano, harmonica, mandolin,
and heart-felt vocals, their music ranges from string band and country
blues to New Orleans swamp boogie and originals about contemporary life.
We are proud to be a part of their second CD, Live At I.M.T.
