Born in the Washington area, Lea Morris was raised on her family’s gospel tradition and went on to study in Germany, where she played with a classical chorus, joined jazz and rock groups, and strengthened her solo career. Now enjoying success in venues across the region such as the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage and the Washington Folk Festival, Lea can also be seen with the all-female funk band Zeala. Lea is considered by many to be one of the area’s most promising young songwriters and has been compared to Tracy Chapman and Joni Mitchell. Come enjoy the debut of her second CD, "Looking Forward," a return to her acoustic roots in which she will be joined by Avril Smith and others!
