"A stunning group unlike any other… absolutely electrifying!"
-Garrison Keillor

"Simply amazing harmonies… truly this is the most wonderful singing I have ever heard."
-David Crosby

Join IMT for a very special night with the 8-voice women’s a capella ensemble KITKA, which has beenperforming Eastern European women’s choral music for more than 22 years. This internationally beloved group is dedicated to sharing its love of the stunning dissonances, asymmetrical rhythms, intricate ornamentation, lush harmonies, and resonant strength of this musical tradition. Many Eastern European musical authorities have come to consider KITKA the foremost interpreter of Bulgarian, Balkan and Slavic Choral repertoire working in the United States. KITKA’s members conduct field research in Baltic and Slavic communities here and abroad before writing original arrangements that add a unique contemporary sensibility — distilled from centuries-old vocal traditions — to KITKA’s concert presentations.

They can be heard on the soundtracks of such movies as Jacob’s Ladder, Braveheart and At Play in the Fields of the Lord.

Note: This is a Sunday performance.
