This internationally beloved
group is dedicated to sharing its love of the stunning dissonances, asymmetrical
rhythms, intricate ornamentation, lush harmonies, and resonant strength
of this musical tradition. Many Eastern European musical authorities have
come to consider KITKA the foremost interpreter of Bulgarian, Balkan and
Slavic Choral repertoire working in the United States. KITKAs members
conduct field research in Baltic and Slavic communities here and abroad
before writing original arrangements that add a unique contemporary sensibility
distilled from centuries-old vocal traditions to KITKAs
