Dougie MacLean has for many years been at the forefront of the development
of Scottish music and song. One of Scotland's most gifted and successful
contemporary singer-songwriters, his innovative work has created a modern
interpretation of traditional themes. His appearance last summer as
a featured artist from Scotland in the Smithsonian's Festival of American
Folklife drew overflowing crowds and rave reviews. Dougie's stories
between his compositions provide a vital and sometimes hilarious backdrop
