The Blue Rhythm Boys, Tom Mitchell, Jim Stephanson, and Ralph Gordon,
with Vince McCool play a great mix of Hot Club Swing, Country Blues,
and Harlem Hokum. If you like Mississippi John Hurt, Django Reinhardt,
and the music of the 1920s and 30s, don't miss this show. Come for an
evening of tight vocals, hot guitars, low-down upright bass and swinging
trumpet. Help celebrate the release of their stellar new CD, "Monday
Morning Blues."
Tom Mitchell also tours with Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, and can be
heard on Dan’s CD, "Beatin’ the Heat." Jim Stephanson
can be seen tearing up his Telecaster with his own band, Jimmy and the
Blue Dogs. Ralph Gordon is on over 90 recordings and has played with
everyone from Trapezoid to Martin, Bogan and Armstrong. Vince McCool,
head of the Jazz program at St. Andrews School, can be heard with the
hot jump band, The J Street Jumpers.
