“A musician whose
technical skill and stylistic expertise are second to
none” Bluegrass Unlimited
Hailed as a “Celtic guitar god” by Baltimore City Paper, Indie Award
winner Robin Bullock interprets the ancient music of the Celtic
lands
and their vigorous Appalachian descendants on acoustic guitar, cittern
and mandolin. A warm, friendly performer, he effortlessly creates a
magical world for the audience with his instrumental wizardry. On The
Enchanted Woods, his sixth solo recording, Robin brings his
stripped-down acoustic ensemble arrangements to the timeless melodies
of the Celtic lands and Appalachia, together with some of his most
inspired original compositions to create a land of enchantment indeed.
Donna Long
grew up in California, and learned piano from
her father, Byron Long, a jazz/classical pianist. But it was not until
she moved to the Baltimore/Washington area and heard fiddler, Brendan
Mulvihill playing Irish music that she was inspired to learn the fiddle
and gain a solid foundation in the traditional style. She began to
accompany him on the piano and came to be considered one of the finest
pianists playing Irish music. Among her many honors, she was asked by
the Smithsonian Institution in 2000 to represent Irish Music in the
series Piano Traditions - celebrating 300 years of the piano.
A former member of the internationally acclaimed Irish group Cherish
the Ladies, she has recorded five CDs with them. Her first solo CD,
Handprints, (released in 2003) includes performances by some of the
foremost traditional musicians from both sides of the Atlantic
