Mary Sue Twohy’s
smooth vocals dancing above subtle, expressive guitar garnered her a
2004 WAMMIE award for Contemporary Folk Vocalist and her fine song
writing skills, Song of the Year. Azalea City Recordings, based in
Takoma Park, MD, presented The Risk Involved, her second recording
effort, produced by Pete and Maura Kennedy. Training Butterflies, her
debut, was produced by Pete Kennedy. Both CDs have gone to 2nd
pressing. Songs to Hang on Stars”is Mary Sue’s new CD presented by
Azalea City Recordings. This project sways evenly between folk pop and
traditional with Missionary Ridge, a Civil War ghost story. Luminaries
Jon Carroll (Mary Chapin Carpenter), Dede Wyland and Pete and Maura
Kennedy are guests on this recording, rendering the songs with detail
and prosody.
