An Evening with
John Jennings
with Zoe Mulford opening
MONDAY, November 21, 7:30 PM
St Mark Presbyterian Church
10701 Old Georgetown Rd., Rockville, MD
$12 IN ADVANCE, $15 AT THE DOOR

John Jennings wears a great many hats. He has released four albums of
original material, "Buddy" and "I Belong to You" on the Vanguard label,
and "It's All Good" and "Four" (the latest) on the Impromptu label. His
Vanguard releases each received 3 1/2 stars (out of four) in USA Today
reviews, which either means that Vanguard has a better PR department
than Impromptu (highly likely), or the quality control has been turned
preciptiously down (less likely).
John
is best known for his work as co-producer and accompanist with renowned
singer/songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter. He has also produced albums
for such notables as John Gorka, Janis Ian, BeauSoleil, The Rankin
Family, and Mary Ann Redmond, among many others. Recent projects
include Tracey Grammer's first solo release "Flower of Avalon,"
Canadian singer/songwriter RyLee Madison's "Me and Cinderella," and
John McCutcheon's latest, "Mightier Than the Sword." He was nominated
for a Grammy award for Record of the Year for "He Thinks He'll Keep
Her."
A multi-instrumentalist, Jennings is well regarded as a guitarist and
bassist, and has played on albums by such artists as Kathy Mattea,
Indigo Girls, Iris Dement and George Jones, to name a scant few. He has
a bunch of projects in the hopper.
